I am interested in some facts about the excellent tune 'Nephatiti' off 'Ex:el'.

Presumably the tune is about Queen Nefertiti of Egypt, but I would like to know why the different spelling from almost every reference I have found?

The only reference I can find to her name being spelt 'Nephatiti' is in an article on crocodile dung being used as a contraceptive by ancient Egyptians at:

I am just getting into a bit of Egyptology (and I am going to Egypt next month) so would be interested to know. Also, where did the spoken sample in the tune come from?

If you look at the discography, you'll see that on the Ex:El demo it was called 'Nefertiti'. Perhaps they just changed it for effect (Cübik/Cubic ?)

I saw the Nefatiti bust in the Berlin Neues Museum at the weekend, came back and realised the track was spelt wrong. I never noticed before!

I'd love to know why the ph crept in. Maybe it was just the trend at the time.

G has says the male voice is Nephatiti, whilst the female is Nefatiti. That's all cleared up then!
