Also related to my local radio station, who are currently running a quiz to name various Television Themes. They play the first couple of seconds and ask people to phone in. After an initial couple of listens it sounded more and more familiar.
It never really dawned on me that it was the theme to Quincy and is, as such sampled on Quincy's Lunch. Anytime I have ever caught the show I've missed this little bit at the start (I don't make a habit of watching obviously), or they've cut it off to save some time.

I had originally thought the reference, Quincy's Lunch came from the Quincy's cafe/restaurant chain. As Homer Simpson would say "D'oh!"

Now for the scientific bit:
(sorry TV on the brain today - most definately nothing to do with the start of BBC Three )
Who's idea was it to sample the theme? (Was it another of Daz's mixes?)

i always thought it was something to do with Quincy Jones?

Aphrodite (drum n bass dj) did a tune called Rinsing Quince, that sampled a Quincy tune!

The Hallmark Channel has just started showing a rerun of the series. They started showing Quincy on 01/01/03 with the first episode from Season 1 and it looks like they’re showing the series in order. Hopefully we’ll get to see all 148 episodes.

The Hallmark Channel is available on Sky digital, ntl:home and Telewest and you can find their TV listings at http://www.hallmarkchannel.co.uk/home.asp.

At the moment Qunicy’s being shown weekdays at 12.00 with a repeat showing at 18.00.

err got to be a few hundred themes - everything from cartoons, dodgy itv game shows to crap american sitcoms, still searching for the munsters theme tune!

Well, if I ever come accross 'The Munsters' theme (Unlikely!) I will pass it along, I assume you're after the original and not the theme from any of the later crap.

Chorlton & the wheelies!!! phew thats going back a bit! I was digging through my CD singles the other day and I've got the Banana splits theme by a group called GSP, cannot remember buying it tho! There were loadsa cheesy rave tracks that used cartoon / kids shows themes out in the 90's but I can't remember Chorlton being used!

I never realised that Quincy's lunch included any of the original Quincy theme music. Anyway the programme is bollocks. Real comedy viewing.

No Chorlton & Wheelies theme, but u can get the video & DVD everywhere, just hook it up to your hi-fi - kaboom!

I've actually got all three series' on DVD but the sound isn't that fantastic - but none the less a great trip back to childhood. Not forgetting Rainbow and Jamie and his Magic Torch.
