Many years ago whilst growing up in the Uk we had a mini culture show on Yoof TV call SNUB.TV. On one of these programs there was a 808 video with a scummy looking fella called MC Tunes, and as I was very much aware of the whole Gerald v 808 thing at the time(I still hold Geralds story as the whole truth and nothing but the truth), I watched the video and it was a very crude 'Dance yourself to death' with a TB303 and TR808 pulse8ting in the background. I later purchased a copy of I think 'Tunes splits the atom' with the promise of this great grinding acid track on the flip side only to find a washed out version of it instead....... I really want a copy of that original nasty sounding throbing baseline cut...... The video was taped in what looks like a basement, probably afflecks palace or even the original eastern bloc......
P.S if any body know who stole my MC Tunes T-shirt while I was working at Blackpool Pleasure Beach summer 89 I would love to know..I have my suspicions about a dodgey ginger manc C*&T who was working there at the time.....wait a minute he actually looked a bit like Paul Scholes......
any way go see what i did later in life http://www.stumpymoose.com and click on blu technics.......and i didnt even use a stunt double for the hand shots, we also have a board, please be nice when you use it and remember, we all started out as Northeners...

Hi Mike,
Do you still have a copy of the video?
I *think* that the version you have is the same (or similar) to the one on a German various artists compilation CD called 'Dance Yourself To Death' (of which I have a spare copy) - more details here: http://homepages.force9.net/king1/Dance ... oDeath.htm
Anyway, let me know.
l8rs,
Nick

I have this on video!
This is only from my memory. Massey and Price twisting around with a 909 and a bass synth (but not a 303). Daz on scratch and MC Tunes rapping DYTD.
I would assume it is a rehersal in the basement of Eastern Bloc with a camara crew invited. Or maybe not even a rehersal but just a synth line and a beat programming they made on the spot. It would surprice me a lot if there is a formal recording sounding like this.
cheers,

Yes that sounds about right prob a SH101....minus the handle modulator.... I would love to see that video again....I think i still have it back in UK, I bet its on Betamax and in PAL format, and none of that helps coz I be now in Canada eh!.......
I think you need to get the tape of it and stick it up on this site......

I would love to digitise my archive and swap with fellow 808ers.
I have video input on the PC, but, it does not work well with VHS source of anything less than super quality. The image and sound get out of sync for one thing.
I will look into it some day. It should be possible to supply some still atleast.
cheers,
