Timebomb+The Only Rhyme That Bites Video on MTV

Post by kris_prodigy »

Hi I'm not an avid fan of 808 State but I have a question concerning the band.
Around 1993 I saw 2 videos on MTV Party Zone. The first one - The Only Rhyme That Bites (with MC Tunes' vocals) and the second - Timebomb (the track was very similar due to its main sample, I believe coming from some western film but without any vocals). I searched the net for the Timebomb track but I only found another version that does not contain the sample I mentioned.
I would be grateful if somebody could help me and explain what it is all about. I mean what was that "video version" of Timebomb? I still remeber that I liked it a lot. :D

Well, The Only Rhyme That Bites (with MC Tunes) featured the Big Country theme. Don't believe that Timebomb sampled a western, but I could be wrong.

What I meant was, that the Timebomb video contained the Big Country theme (the same as in Atomic Kitten's I Want Your Love :D) sample. And I'm 100% sure of that.

No-the Timebomb video did not have that sample.

When 808 were on MTV's Party Zone-the MTV DJs produced a 5 minute compilation mixing most of 808's best known tunes with their videos.

Maybe the Big Country sample went over the video for Timbomb in this mesh ??
