Still got the 12" of "Beach Bump" somewhere - a bouncy (and for Baby Ford atypical) housey-thing with the beats lifted from "Break for Love" and a Bobby O.-ish bassline...
I'm really racking my brains right now trying to remember, what the rest of the album was like...! Anyone out there, who's (still) got it...?
i recently managed to pick up this beauty from a 2nd hand shop in camden... http://www.discogs.com/release/245175 - the baby ford remix of 'mantra for a state of mind' by s'express. been searching for this since 1989! great stuff, and it was only 99p!
hey nick-is the b side of the bford1 oochy koochy 12" an etching made by peter himself-if so this is like having his autograph on his first record!!!
'i feel the power of my heart...i need to know your mind'
'ooo' the world is good-i like the first side more than the second (which has more vocals in the tracks) the us cd states that it was recorded in early '88
i thought it would have been in early '89
wow-i wish i could go to the acid on sea-BABY FORD,CEEPHAX (live duo 303 set), CYLOB and UNIQUE-3 original acid set... (on aphex's birthday)
I *might* be going to see Baby Ford (and A Guy Called Gerald) at Fabric on Saturday night - just depends if I can get away from a party early enough (or that I haven't drunk too much) to make it to Fabric!
I mentioned this on another topic earlier. I love Baby Ford, and i still get goose bumps when i hear Wigan. After all these years, it still sounds as good as when it did when it was first released.
His cover of Chidren of the Revolution is also fantastic.
