A lot of the above tracks are potentially going to be included on the forthcoming ZTT reissue package, and Flutronic (i.e. the Transambient) CD is still available via Juno.

Or from the label itself: http://www.truelove.co.uk at 7.99.

808 State mp3s

Post by De Lillie »

Hi All

I don't know what the policy is on mp3s, but i don't think we should swop mp3s which are available in the shop. We get enough free things as it is. The only mp3 i've ever requested was the Bond remix. All the other 808 State material I buy.

808 State need the money. U2 fans don't swop mp3s. If they did U2 wouldn't exist for much longer.

Opinions?

I agree. If they're available for sale then we shouldn't swap them. But if they're not available then I'd say it was fine. We're complete 808 fans on here and we want everything.

I take Markus' point about them likely to be released with the re-releases. But I'm willing to bet that every one of us on here will be buying the box sets regardless of whether we already have them.

Hi All

Yep. We buy a JP remix album (Forecast) which has the remixes of the singles (which we own) which were issued from Gorgeous (which we own), then we download the live versions from www.808state.com and we buy the promos. And i doubt whether of us ever liked 10x10.

Personally i bought the UK 12", ZA/UK CD5, US CD5 and nearly bought the JP CDEP for La Luz. Yeah bru three discs for the same version of La Luz. It's what fans do, innit.

Anybody have a JP (Bombadin) CDEP with La Luz on for sale in a decent condition for a decent price?

That was Nick's comment by the way, not mine :-)
But in response to the whole question, in my opinion an mp3 once in a while doesn't hurt. Myself, being a hardcore fan, I usually do not rest until I find the original :-) Thanks to sites like eBay or discogs.com marketplace there's no longer an excuse not to find them.
Here's the official 808 statement from 2000 regarding file sharing:
