The story on the local news up here is the comeback of the Mock Turtles with the re-release of "Can u dig it". Amazing what a mobile phone ad can do. They even plan to reform and tour........and all 808 seem to get on is a couple of car reg plates for vauxhall
Do you think 808 will ever get played on an ad to become mainstream ? If so what products should be advertised with what track ?
........debate!!
.........just thought, The only rhyme that bites actually promotes Wales although its probably not 808's version
The 'Wales' ad just uses the music from 'The Big Country' which 808 sampled for 'The Only Rhyme That Bites'. Wonder who's stupid idea that was, 'Wales - The Big Country', yeah and Girls Aloud are a really good group too!
I wouldn't mind hearing a little more 808 on TV or Radio even on ads as long as they don't do a moby and license tracks to anyone offering money.
They should use '606' to advertise heartburn remedies like Rennies or Pepcid - Fire Burns Inside!

Maybe a scenario where a guy gets locked in a freezer and some fit bird rescues him with "No Chill Out" sampled at the time, the guy appears as though he's been in a sauna, cos of his levis, then as they walk off, the instrumental kicks in.
I don't think 808 would be too happy about a Levi's Ad , following the stories surrounding Babylon Zoo's Spaceman. And if the stories are true, I can justify calling Jas Mann an absolute Rodney! (Or Stronger words to that effect)

808 doing ad's? hmmm not thier style I reckon, not that they wouldn't say no to a few quid and some free promotion perhaps? As long as they advertise something decent and not a naff product who knows? I'm suprised they haven't had any tunes used for some advertising of some sort, Pacific is perfect for holiday ad's and In yer face is a great slogan for some companies I'm sure!!!
