808 mix 808 State or not?
Sometimes there's confusion if a '808 mix' is actually by 808 State or if Graham Massey is actually the Graham V. Massey. I created a page a while ago with mixes I don't think are 808-related. But it seems I never linked it. It's here: http://www.808state.com/discogs/not808.htm
Graham, please check it out and let us know if you agree.
Let's kick off this topic with continuing on the question if this is 'our' Graham Massey or not:
Donna Lewis, album 'Blue Planet', track 'Lay Me Down'. Track reads: "Additional Drum Programming: Graham Massey". Album reads: "Post Production: Pro-Tools - Graham Massey". Album was recorded in Dublin. The 'Thanks' section mentions, amongst many others, Graham Massey and Trevor Horn. Although I can't hear any Massey connection, the pro-tools and Trevor Horn hint a Massey connection? Graham, if this still doesn't ring a bell, I'll bring the CD to m/cr.

Splash - I Need Rhythm (808 Cut) from 12".

It is from 1990. When the music exploded in the British charts. Along with 90 and Heights. Could be mistaken for being of our guys.
BTW. Maybe the KLF remix 12" naming was made to tease. And additional piece in the Manchester/London affair. That 12" is absolutely horrorable.

Seaching for 808 on discogs.com brought me to this quite interesting and odd project.

I wouldn't mind having a listen to that one. Crazy.

yes it is ,,not really typical in that i just enginered it whilst Tim Oliver was ill
Tim Oliver was my teacher at sound school..
very indie mid 80s mcr ,they were pretty poular , my love is like a gift you cant return is a bitter love song to Deborah Anne Turner ,,anyone seen The alcahol years a film by Carol Morley (pauls sister)?
Debbie Turner was a notorious riot gurl around town in the mid to late 80s
they (debbie and carol the paris hilton and nicole ritchie of our world) had a band called TOT with Tony Martin ( he was hypnotone later on)
Any how its a very good view of mid 80s Manchester, its been on chanel 4 a few times and is a dvd.

So, can we assume that the tracks mentioned on the 'Not 808' page are indeed correctly not 808State-related?
Beborn Beton: Too Emotional (808 State Boom Mix)
Cabaret Voltaire: I Want You (808 Heaven Mix)
Johnny Dangerously: Black And Blue / This Town and Mary (Massey)
Howard Jones: Everlasting Love (808 mix)
The KLF: Last Train To Trancentral (808bass version)
Madonna: Vogue (DJ Logik's 808 State Mix)

Hopefully, this one should be with me any day now (assuming I've ordered the right one)! The first time I looked at that, I thought you meant the guy who plays with Lonnie Donnegan - i.e. Les Bennet!graham wrote:have nt seen "les bennets" on discog which was a french band me and martin did early on ,,it probably rubbish more details to come
On a new one, the new compilation CD "Giles Peterson Presents The BBC Sessions Vol. 1" features a Homelife session track (recorded in August 2002), "Seedpod", with Graham amongst the musicians.
I'm a big fan of Gilles show (5. year) and record it every week. Although I have missed ones, and been unable to hear it for a good half year. In the Homelife period. If anyone has the show with Homelife in studio I am all ears. And have loads of show to swap.
