I'm wondering what Mr. Massey and Co.'s take on people sampling their work is?
I want to use the vocal/synth intro and the bassline breakdown from In Yer Face in a track that will be released non-commercially on the seedsound netlabel (www.seedsound.com). I think the sentiments of that vocal are just as relevent now as they were in 91, maybe more so. Of course I'd credit the sample, so at least people would know to seek out the source. Since no money is involved, that seems reasonable to me, but I figure the best thing to do is ask first.

“Kinetics” was originally created using shareware programs Fastracker and Stomper back in 1996, then reworked with a sample from “In Yer Face” by 808 State (from the EX:EL album) for 2006. Big ups to Sporadik for rescuing the original off the hard drive at the Funny Farm, and to 808 State for giving permission to sample them.
