808 live vocalists/don sol launch 10years

Was transfering a tape of castlefield don solaris launch and realised we had a lot of vocalists that night,Doughty ,Ragga , Loiuse,
The following day was Beatlebash ? and we must have had some vocals
possably Ragga ,may be Louise (she did edinborough a few weeks earlier,the day the MCR bomb went off,10 years a go this week)
We were talking in the pub about it with Alan (Hempsall) he was trained up and rehersed to sing Bond at the beatle bash and had to pull out due to illness,
Alison Goldfrapp came in to do some of the gigs around that point ,singing
Azura /Mooz cant think what else certainly not 10 x 10 or 1 in 10
any one see the glasgow gig that she did (it was further out than glasgow
Irvine) Brasil gigs Alison did.(both of those with Bjork on the same bill)
I ran into Racheal Mc Farlane the otherday while mixing the MCR VS Cancer gig in salford.so was digging some tapes out for her ,and Barrington who Id also ran into recently ,havent seen either for years ,But yeah they used to do 10x10 ,1in 10 ,and Give me Shelter , Robert Owen did it with us a couple of times Manchester and London on the Gorgeous tour..Ian Mccullogh did Bristol,wembley(what was that gig it was nt brits weekender,,was it Madnesstour ?) London and a tv appearence.
Bjork and Bernard sumner did Gmex turbo rave ,Then Bjork did long beach (oh and the reykavik gig)
and the Sanfransico gig the following day .
Magical dream was done early on and i think Fresh Vanesse did a couple of gigs doing that like international 2,I know my mate Mandy Wigby did Magical dream at cities in the park,Think we did Leo Leo a fewtimes with the Raagman (simon).Then I was reminded of another mc who did a track called bodyshop that we never released an intrumental of which became a bells whisky ad .Another studio vocalist was Pete Hope of the band THE BOX,from shefield he did insane lover and another unreleased track
el cid.which crops up a bit in optibuk.he nearly did a gig at the academy but pulled out.
Billie ray Martin also did a track around then but that never surfaced.
id be interested to hear what Alison sounded like with us ,not shure if it was ever recorded though we were on brasilian tv cubik at least,i remember it being good,
sorry just emptying my head there....

Just wondered if you ever tried to get James Dean Bradfield to play at any gigs. If my memories right did you just play the vocals over the live track, or did you not play it live, im sure you did.

Bells ad was 95 i think spring may be ran a long time bells 8 year old /volkswagon camper van/man getting engaged/ribbed by his mates.
I dont think we ever played lopez in an 808 set,Though Grham Clark and I used to do a variation on it as an ambient thing (isnt it on here somewhere?)
Noticed James Dean Bradfield is doing a solo record ,he was on at the roadhouse the other week..back to his roots

El cid and Bodyshop - it would be great for these to surface. And its a shame non of the others got recorded - it would be fantastic to hear.

Never mind. Perhaps El cid/Bodyshop in the Bonuses?? Hope thats all going well - any news?

Don't think that Bernard Sumner did Gmex turbo rave? Think the only appearance he did was earlier on that year at the GMex Happy Mondays gig doing 'Magical Dream'?

Barney definitely didn't do Turbo Rave Gmex, I think he did Happy Mondays Gmex though. Magical Dream? Not Spanish Heart?

For some reason I had it in my head you played it at Liverpool in 97, my mistake, although the flyer on the 97 live page does contain the lopez wishbone.
