It is an early, raw and superb "demo" version. That was only released on a promo tape compiling the tracks that was licensed to the film. I guess it was sent out to shops dealing the film for instore playback.

That tape is so incredibly rare. I guess a lot of the shops originally receiving it would through it out during a clean-out.

You could hook up the audio-out of your VCR to the audio-in on your computer (or tape recorder or minidisc player) and record it.

I have an MP3 dump of the tape. That is with tape hiss but music only. I can upload it on an FTP if you have one.

License To Thrill, btw, is also available on DVD from the US (or play.com) in a 4xDVD Greg Stumps box set - better to rip from that than the VHS!

There's a quite raw and very good version on the compilation 'Dance Yourself To Death' on German label Boy Records.
Not sure if this is the version you are looking for.

The compilation includes two more 808 tracks.
Let Yourself Go and another one - I don't remember the name at the moment but it's from the same 12".
