UK single chart stats - Instrumental charters
The Gilles Peterson show recently got me on to Eumir Deodato - Whistlebump which was mentioned as one of only a few UK chart singles completely instrumental. Now Pacific is too, so I wonder who else, and how exclusive is this.
Does anyone know the list or know a website with chart stats like this.

Did you know Deodato was an 808 fan -he was in the front row of our
1st limelight gig in New York-Then the next day he took us to his studio
in manhatten- we talked about working together but we never got
that together -but of coarse he did string arrangements on Post by Bjork.
(and some on homegenic)
He d done tons of work in the 60s and 70s as an arranger-Bjork and I both love the arrangements on Travessia by Milton Naciemento-she found out it was him and thats why she chose him i think-But He'd done famous stuff like Sinatra and Id say His most famous instrumental hit was "Also Sprach Zarathustra" ( 2001 space oddysea) the disco version which was number 1
im pretty shure in 72 or 73.(pre disco really) from the album Prelude on CTI records (a jazz lable) so for all you jazz buffs (yeah right!) its got Billy cobham on drums and stan clark on bass .

That's Bjork's mad drummer at the front (isn't it?), amazing on Hyperballad when I seen them in Dublin a few years back.
I'm sure I mentioned it on here before, but he got a bigger cheer than Bjork did when leaving the stage. The other guy beside Eumir plays accordian with the band, I think! Vaguely remember, as I kind of went off Bjork when she changed direction beginning with the soundtrack to Dancer in the Dark. Still love Bjork's earlier stuff though, especially Karvel, it should have been on Post.
